Our collaboration with Parker West Interiors on the sleek, sophisticated
Media Room at Pasadena Showcase House of Design 2000 brought us
in contact with David and Kiki Gindler, who after seeing how our
systems both look and operate, asked us to design a complete home
media system for their Hancock Park, CA renovation.

All projects have challenges, but this 5,000 square foot, early
twentieth century (1935), Paul Williams home presented some unique
dilemmas. Our goal was to create a modern, sophisticated, and functional
home electronics system in a home that was designed and built before
the television was invented. Adding to the complexity of the task
was the necessity to keep cosmetic damages to a minimum, while still
completely hiding all wires, cables, and other equipment. Luckily,
these difficulties were eased by the technology savvy homeowners'
ability to clearly communicate their desired results.

Our first step was to meet with the Gindlers before they moved into
the home to discuss their plans and gather information needed for
the initial system design. This crucial preliminary meeting allowed
our system designer to get a feel for the styles, personalities,
and technology know-how of the couple, as well as the scope of work.
Once it was established that the Gindlers required the complete
package, from prewire to final installation and programming, the
system designer was able to begin crafting a plan that would fulfill
all of the couple's expectations for their dream home theater.
